FORMATION

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of shooting some behind the scenes shots for my dear friend Amanda. She shot her new spring clothing line (set to release in early March) in my boyfriend's loft downtown Winton-Salem.

Amanda is an extremely talented woman. She attended Savannah College of Art & Design for Graphic & Fashion Design. She has been in the industry for years working with Urban Outfitters with their Urban Renewal vintage pieces and has been freelancing with Belk for the past 3 years. Sewing is her life and passion and it very evident in the quality her clothing. I have multiple piece of hers from over the years and I am SO excited for the release of her new spring line (everything is amazing, seriously).

FORMATION is Amanda's baby and I am so pleased to share these little bits and piece of her new spring release. Her new line is a little more "anthropologie" inspired than most of her previous lines. In her words FORMATION is "Targeting a demographic ranging from a hipster teen to a trendsetting woman, FORMATION features handmade clothing in the "FORMATION" brand and carefully reconstructed and repurposed apparel in the "FORMATIONremade" line. All FORMATION-branded garments are handmade in the beautiful state of North Carolina."

Please enjoy this little sneak peak of her lovely clothing. Follow her on Instagram to watch for her release!

French Toast

I would have to say that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I'll probably post about breakfast (well, food in general) a lot on here. Sorry in advance.
This morning I made my favorite type of breakfast-FRENCH TOAST!! If you don't know me, I'm a snob. I know what I like, and I like what I know. When I make french toast I ONLY use Brioche from my favorite local bakery (Camino Bakery in Winston-Salem, NC). Brioche is such a hearty, eggy & perfect bread for french toast. It turns out perfect every single time too.

My simple recipe for the "perfect french toast" go like this.
1 egg (use 2/3 if you're making a bunch)
A big splash of milk
1-2 tsp of vanilla
A heaping shake of cinnamon
& 2 Tbsp brown sugar

I really like to change up my recipe every once in a while. My favorite is to add dried lavender buds to the recipe above. Dear lord. It's a magically experience.

I would LOVE to hear your favorite ways to make & dress your breakfast! Enjoy!

Scones

Over the past few weeks I have been baking like a fiend! Baking has always been a huge passion of mine, but I never really made time for it. Well, that has all changed now and I am baking constantly, my boyfriend must think I'm crazy. I got a beautiful KitchenAid Pro Stand Mixer for christmas and it is being well loved.

This past weekend I wanted to try my hand at making simple vanilla scones. I found this great recipe off of Pinterest which just so happened to be from one of my favorite blogs (offbeat + inspired), so I knew it had to be good!

It was seriously the most simple and perfect recipe I have ever tried. You know what I'm talking about, the recipes that you do once and it turns out so great it boosts your self-confidence to an 11?! Yeah, well, that is what happened with these scones. The whole process took about 30 minutes from start to finish and they were PERFECT. I barely waited for them to cool off before I started eating them. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful they are. You'll just have to take my word on it and try them out for yourself some saturday morning. You can find the recipe here.

I topped mine with some homemade strawberry lavender jam (i'll post about that jam come spring time).

Enjoy!

New

I've decided to start a little lifestyle & personal journal blog for daily & weekly use. I wanted a platform for more than just photography posts, which of course will happen here and often. I wanted a place where I could post about anything. Things I find inspiring, beautiful or just plain amazing! I hope you will enjoy my randomness and the things I find amusing.
