Luna & Louise

When I'm not busy at my "10-6" job or photographing lovely people on the weekends, you'll probably find me on my bed making jewelry.
I started Luna & Louise back in the fall of 2011 as a random hobby. I started out with felt flower hair clips and quickly dropped that for vintage keys, charms, glitter, wooden beads & anything I can paint/patina. I've always been a fan of repurposing old oddities into something lovely. Everyone makes key necklaces. Everyone. And because of that I decided I needed to do something different, something to set me apart. I hand paint all my keys in bright or contrasting colors, I love doing black keys with gold tips. It's my best seller. Lately I've been painting wooden beads, which is really fun because I can do an ombré/gradient and have a little more control.

Blah Blah Blah.

All of that was just to say YOU CAN WIN A FREE GREEN OPAQUE OMBRÉ NECKLACE from my friend Anna's blog, Flawlessly Flawed. She's got an awesome write up about her favorite Etsy sites and I'm one of them! WOO!

Anyway.

Please go check it out and enter to win a ton of great prizes. I wish I could enter. There are some really great pieces available to win.

H A I R

I recently changed my hair color from a deep red back to being a brunette with a blonde ombré. It's still a work in progress because having red hair is greatest and worst idea you can have. It takes so much processing to get the dang red dye out of my hair (thank god for my amazing stylist & friend Amber Woodall). And because of that, lately I have been trying really hard to embrace NOT washing my hair everyday and allowing it to be crazy and messy. It's sorta working for me. Klorane dry shampoo has been a lifesaver! I would be lost without that stuff, seriously it's amazing. I did a little iPhone shoot for myself since I wasn't 100% keen on the whole messy hair thing, but I think I'm sold now.

Got any hair products you love to use to style your messy hair? I'd love to hear about them!

Wanderlust - PARIS

Paris.

The bane of my existence and the reason my heart goes pitter patter most days. Lately, I've been day dreaming of visiting the magical streets and old buildings of Paris, but alas, my bank account seems to think otherwise. I haven't been to many other European cities, but Paris has my heart wrapped around it's perfect, glamorous finger. I can't even begin to explain how I feel when I see the flickering lights on the Eiffel Tower at night, or the grand views of Paris atop the hillside where La Basilique du Sacré Cœur de Montmartre sits.

Here are some of my favorite photographs from my trip summer of 2012. I can't wait to get back to my heart, I "accidentally" left it there....
